Position-wise Eligibility & Pay Scale
Educational qualifications, experience, and pay scales for all positions are as per UGC/NCERT/Government of India norms amended from time to time and in force at the time of the closing date of applications.
1. PROFESSOR
Pay Scale: Academic Level 14 with rationalized entry pay of Rs. 1,44,200/- (Pre-revised scale: Rs. 37,400-67,000 with AGP-10,000)
Essential Qualifications (Eligibility A or B):
Option A:
- An eminent scholar having a PhD degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline with published work of high quality
- Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
- Total research score of 120 as per UGC Regulations-2018 criteria (Appendix II, Table 2)
- Minimum 10 years of teaching experience in a university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and/or research experience at an equivalent level
- Evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates
Option B:
- An outstanding professional with Ph.D. degree from academic institutions/industry who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned discipline, supported by documentary evidence, with 10 years’ experience
2. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Pay Scale: Academic Level 13A with rationalized entry pay of Rs. 1,31,400/- (Pre-revised scale: Rs. 37,400-67,000 with AGP-9,000)
Essential Qualifications:
- A good academic record with a PhD degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines
- Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade in point-scale)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor
- Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals with a total research score of 75 as per UGC Regulations-2018 criteria
3. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Pay Scale: Academic Level 10 with rationalized entry pay of Rs. 57,700/- (Pre-revised scale: Rs. 15,600-39,100 with AGP-6,000)
Essential Qualifications (Eligibility A or B):
Option A:
- Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
- Cleared NET/SLET/SET conducted by UGC, CSIR, or similar test accredited by UGC
- PhD holders are exempted from NET/SLET/SET if awarded in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016
Special Exemption for PhD candidates registered before July 11, 2009:
- PhD degree awarded in regular mode
- PhD thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
- Open Ph.D. viva voce conducted
- Published two research papers from PhD work (at least one in a refereed journal)
- Presented at least two papers in conferences/seminars sponsored by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or similar agencies
Option B:
- PhD degree obtained from a foreign university/institution ranking among the top 500 in World University Ranking (at any time) by QS, Times Higher Education (THE), or Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)
Note: Academic scores as per UGC Appendix II (Table 3A for Universities, Table 3B for Colleges) will be considered for shortlisting candidates for interview only. Final selection will be based on interview performance.
4. DEPUTY LIBRARIAN
Pay Scale: Academic Level 13A with rationalized entry pay of Rs. 1,31,400/- (Pre-revised scale: Rs. 37,400-67,000 with AGP-9,000)
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science with at least 55% marks
- Eight years’ experience as Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian
- Evidence of innovative library services, including the integration of ICT in the library
- PhD degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science/Archives and manuscript keeping/Computerization of library
5. ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN
Pay Scale: Academic Level 10 with rationalized entry pay of Rs. 57,700/- (Pre-revised scale: Rs. 15,600-39,100 with AGP-6,000)
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science with at least 55% marks
- Consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of the library
- Cleared NET/SLET/SET conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar test, OR PhD degree (exempted from NET/SLET/SET as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016)
Important Instructions for Candidates

- Document Upload: Candidates must upload a scanned recent passport-size photograph, signature, and all relevant documents
- Multiple Applications: For applying to multiple posts, submit separate applications with the requisite fees for each post
- PWD Candidates: Persons with disability less than 40% will not be considered. A disability certificate must be from a competent medical board
- OBC Candidates: Must submit a valid caste certificate with the latest Non-Creamy Layer certificate and self-declaration
- EWS Candidates: Must submit a valid certificate and a self-declaration
- Government Employees: Must apply through the proper channel with a No Objection Certificate from the current employer
- Shortlisting: Registration is provisional. Eligibility will be verified at the interview stage from the original documents
- Relaxation: Relaxation in percentage of marks to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PWD categories as per UGC/GOI/NCERT rules
Shortlisting Criteria for Interview
For Assistant Professor:
- Up to 50 candidates (category-wise) for the first vacancy and 5 candidates for every additional vacancy will be called
- The minimum academic score should not be less than 60 in any case
For Professor and Associate Professor:
- Up to 10 candidates (category-wise) for the first vacancy and 5 candidates for every additional vacancy
- Selection based on rank/merit as per UGC guidelines
