SBI Bank, officially known as the State Bank of India, conducts an exam to recruit candidates for the position of Junior Associates in sales and customer support at branches throughout India. SBI Clerk Exam Pattern 2025
The State Bank of India has a separate exam pattern. Candidates must be familiar with the exam pattern before preparing for the exam. We discuss below the exam pattern.
Preliminary Exam
- SBI didn’t mention any subject-wise qualifying marks for each subject.
- There is no cut-off mark.
- SBI Clerk examination is held in Online mode.
- Total duration is 60 minutes. Each paper has 20 minutes.

Mains Exam
- The main exam has 2-hour and 40-minute sessions.
- The questions will be MCQ-type.
- Marks will be deducted for negative marking.
SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria
SBI has two sections of eligibility criteria for the Junior Associates position. First is the educational qualification, and second is the age limit. Below, we mention the eligibility criteria for Junior Associates in a table.
SBI Clerk Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have a valid Graduation Certificate from a recognised university or any certificate from the Central Government.
- Final-year candidates may apply for the SBI Clerk exam but must present proof of graduation by December 31, 2024, if provisionally selected.
- Candidates must have an IDD (Integrated Dual Degree) Certificate with a passing date before December 31, 2024.
SBI Clerk Age Limit
- The minimum age limit is 21 years.
- The candidates must be born between 02.04.1996 and 01.04.2004.

SBI Clerk Selection Process
The SBI Selection process has two main sections. Two exams are part of the SBI Clerk exam: the SBI Preliminary and the SBI Main. All candidates must pass in these two exams to receive an appointment letter from SBI. There are no inter-circle or inter-state transfer options for Junior Associates. Trained trainees may receive 5 bonus marks (2.5% of 200) in the Main Examination.
SBI Clerk Online Application Process
- Candidates must visit the Official Website of SBI.
- There is an option for the SBI Clerk Application Form.
- Fill out the application form for the entire process.
- Upload the documents as needed.
- Pay the application fee, and you will be notified later of the admit card and examination date.
SBI Clerk Online Application Fee
- The application fee is 750 Rupees for the General Category for the SBI Clerk examination.
- There will be no application fee for the categories SC, ST, OBC and PWD.
- Once the fee is deducted from the bank for the examination, there will be no chances to get it back.
SBI Clerk Syllabus 2025
The SBI Clerk exam consists of two stages: prelims and mains. Though the SBI Clerk Prelims Syllabus and the SBI Clerk Mains Syllabus, these two exams have the same syllabus. The main exam is more difficult than the prelim. There are mainly 3 subjects, including English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude, in these two exams. SBI Clerk Salary Structure
The starting salary of an SBI Clerk is approximately Rs. 46000, and the pay scale is Rs. 24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480. The starting Basic Pay is Rs 26730/- (Rs 24050/- plus two advance increments admissible to graduates).
- The SBI Clerk starting salary is approximately Rs. 46000.
