WBPSC Assistant Master and Mistress Exam Pattern 2025
- The WBPSC Assistant Master and Mistress Exam consists of objective-type MCQS.
- There is a total of 100 questions, each with 100 marks, in the WBPSC Assistant Master and Mistress Exam.
- Each correct answer has 1 mark.

Eligibility Criteria of WBPSC Assistant Teacher 2025
WBPSC, West Bengal Public Service Commission, has a qualification criterion that candidates must follow. There are two parts to eligibility: educational qualification and age limit. We will discuss briefly the qualification criteria for the WBPSC Assistant Master and Mistress Exam 2025.
Age Limit:
- The minimum age limit is 21 years.
- The maximum age limit is 32 years.
- The OBC category has a 39-year age relaxation.
- The ST, SC category has a 41-year age relaxation.
Education Qualification:
Candidates must follow the academic requirements mentioned by WBPSC to be considered for the position of Assistant Master or Mistress under WBPSC.
For Master’s Degree:
- Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in the subject they intend to teach.
- The degree should be obtained from a recognised university or board with a minimum of 50% marks.
- The subject of the Master’s degree must correspond to the teaching subject.
For example, if a candidate intends to teach English, they must have completed a Master’s degree in English. Similarly, candidates applying for Mathematics must possess a Master’s degree in Mathematics.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Degree:
- Candidates must hold a B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) degree from a recognised institution.
- The B.Ed qualification is essential to ensure candidates have the necessary pedagogical skills to teach effectively.
Additional Considerations:
- Candidates who have obtained their qualifications from foreign universities must ensure that their degrees are equivalent to Indian standards as recognised by the relevant authorities.
- Reservation policies may provide certain relaxations in the minimum marks criteria for candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PWD), subject to government norms.
