Eligibility Criteria of WBSSC Group C and D Recruitment 2025
West Bengal School Service Commission has set a minimum educational qualification that the candidates must carry to apply for WBSSC Group C and D Recruitment 2025. The qualification criteria according to different posts are discussed detailedly here.
Educational Qualification
- Librarian – Candidates must have completed graduation in General Stream from Arts, Science, and Commerce through both distance and regular mode.
- Clerk – Candidates must have to carry School Final/ Madhyamik Certificate or its equivalent, or Old H.S. in lieu of School Final / Madhyamik or its equivalent will also be applicable.
- Group D – The aspirants must pass class VIII from any recognized school affiliated with the Board/council or its relevant.
Age Limit of Group C and D Recruitment 2025
WBSSC has set an age limit for the candidates as per the posts, as well as educational qualifications. The notification of WBSSC Group C and D Recruitment 2025 notifies a maximum and a minimum age limit.
- Librarian – Minimum 20 years and maximum 40 years. The Commission has given a 5-year age relaxation for the Scheduled cast candidates, 3 years for other class candidates, and 8 years for the Physically Handicapped Candidates.
- Clerk – Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years as on 1st January of the year of advertisement, relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates, 3 years for Other Backward Class candidates, not subject matter of any litigation, and 8 years for the Physically Handicapped Candidates.
- Group D – Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years as on 1st January of the year of advertisement, relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates, 3 years for Other Backward Class candidates, not subject matter of any litigation, and 8 years for the Physically Handicapped Candidates.
Candidates who have passed the 2016 exam will get age relaxation.
WBSSC Group C and D Recruitment Exam Pattern
There will be 60 questions addressed to the subjects specifically Current Affairs, Arithmetic, General English, and General Knowledge for the Group C Exam. For the group D exam, there will be 45 questions from three subjects regarding General Knowledge, Arithmetic, and Current Affairs. Both exams have a 1-hour duration.
Group C and D Selection Process of 2025
- Librarian – Total marks gained by the aspirants in the written exam and Academic Performance, as well as similar experience and interview.
- Clerk – The commission will calculate the total marks obtained in the written exam and academic performance, as well as similar experience. The candidates have to give an interview on Typing and a Computer Proficiency Test.
- Group D – Total marks in the written exam will be calculated and an interview will be conducted.
