WBSSC Librarian Syllabus : 2025

The WBSSC Librarian syllabus is primarily centered on topics related to Library Science. The written exam pattern encompasses three primary components: English Language, General Knowledge, and Mathematical and Logical Reasoning. These subjects collectively constitute the syllabus for the assessment. In order to convey the entire syllabus more clearly to the candidates, we have prepared the following table for reference.

WBSSC Librarian Exam Pattern

The selection process for the Librarian position at WBSSC encompasses an exam pattern that includes a written examination, evaluation of academic qualifications, assessment of relevant experience, and a formal interview. The written examination is designed to assess candidates’ subject matter expertise as well as their general aptitude skills.

The selection process for librarian positions conducted by the West Bengal School Service Commission typically entails the following examination pattern.

  • Written Examination – The exam pattern consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), which collectively total 75 marks. Candidates will be allotted 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the examination. It is important to note that there is a penalty for incorrect responses, with a deduction of one-third of the total available marks for each incorrect answer.

 

  • Academic Background and Experience – Marks will be awarded based on academic qualifications and relevant experience. This criterion carries a total of 10 marks, allowing for the accumulation of up to 5 marks for similar experience, with each year of experience contributing 1 mark.

 

  • Interview – The recruitment process includes an interview component. Candidates who are selected are required to participate in an interview that is valued at a total of 10 marks.

 

  • Final Merit List – A final merit list will be published following the completion of all relevant processes. The merit list will reflect the scores obtained from previous recruitment procedures.
