WB Upper Primary TET Notification 2025 Released: Download the Full Gazette!
The WB Upper Primary TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) is an examination conducted for aspiring teachers who want to teach classes 6 to 8 in government and government-aided schools in West Bengal. It’s a mandatory qualification exam for becoming an upper primary teacher (teaching grades 6-8) in West Bengal schools. The exam is conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE).
This exam will follow the format of the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test). Specifically, CTET Paper 2 is intended for those teaching classes VI to VIII.

Overview of WB Upper Primary TET 2025
WBBPE has set out to recruit appropriate candidates for the positions of Teacher recruitment in classes VI to VIII. The notification will bring an opportunity to the eagerly awaited candidates after the gazette is released. They will soon publish their notification next month.

Eligibility Criteria of WB Upper Primary TET Recruitment 2025
West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has set a minimum educational qualification that the candidates must carry to apply for WB Upper Primary TET Recruitment 2025. The qualification criteria according to different posts are discussed detailedly here.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have a degree of D.El.Ed. or B.Ed. with a 50% mark in graduation.
- Reserved candidates get eligibility relaxation.

Age Limit
- The minimum age limit is 20 years.
- The maximum age limit is 40 years.
- OBS and SC/ST can get 3 and 5 years of age relaxation.

- Subjective Pedagogy will be applied to every subject.
- A subjective exam worth 100 will be conducted by WBBPE.
Salary Structure of WB Upper Primary TET 2025
- Basic pay is 33,400 Rupees.
- With DA, HRA, and Medical, the total salary is 42,384 Rupees.
WB Upper Primary TET 2025 Selection Process
- A written exam of 150 questions worth 150 marks will be held.
- A written exam may also be conducted for each subject.
- The number of Written exam, Interview and Academic number will be added in total marks.
- Then, a merit list will be published.
