New problems, events, and changes happen around us all the time. To solve these problems, we need practical solutions. Scientists do their research to understand these issues, find causes, simply solutions for them, and explore how they can be used. In this article, we will try to shed some light on the significance of scientific research–its definition, divisions, and importance in academia.

What is Scientific Research?

As mentioned earlier, Scientific research is a systematic and organized process of investigating natural or social phenomena. Scientific research often uses observation, experimentation, and analysis. It aims at discovering new knowledge, explaining existing facts, and solving problems based on evidence and logic. Research is an essential part of higher studies. Candidates who are preparing for the UGC NET exam must have an aptitude for research. However, Scientific research follows a structured method, including:

Difference in Definition:

5. Cross-Sectional Research
