Important: Once payment is made, the selected post/subject/category cannot be changed. Candidates must cancel the payment and refill the entire form if any correction is needed before final submission. No changes are permitted after final submission.

Candidates applying for more than one category (e.g., Class 1–5, 6–8, 9–10, and 11–12) must pay a separate fee for each category applied to. Bank charges, as applicable, will be added automatically to the exam fee during online payment.
To be eligible for the School Teacher post, a candidate must:
Teachers appointed and working before 2012 who have qualified the “Dakshata Pariksha” (Efficiency Test) are exempt from mandatory TET qualification.
Candidates awaiting the result of the upcoming Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET, 2026) may also apply, provided they clear STET before the Preliminary Exam; if they fail to qualify STET 2026, their admit card for the Preliminary Exam will not be issued.
For Class 1–5 (Primary) posts, candidates need, broadly, one of the following:

For Class 11–12 (Senior Secondary) posts, candidates broadly need:
Subject-wise eligible postgraduate subjects (for example) include Physics/Electronics/Applied Physics/Nuclear Physics for the Physics post; Chemistry/Biochemistry for Chemistry; Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics for Economics; M.Com (excluding Applied/Business Economics specialisation) for Commerce; and Botany/Zoology/Life Science/Bio Science/Genetics/Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Plant Physiology for the Botany/Zoology post.
For Class 6–8 (Middle School) posts, candidates broadly need:
For language subjects, candidates must have studied the concerned language as an Honours/Subsidiary subject at graduation level. For Social Science, candidates need any two subjects from History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Commerce, Psychology, Sociology, Home Science at graduation level. For Maths & Science, candidates need any two subjects from Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany/Zoology at graduation level.
Selected candidates will be recruited under the “School Teacher, Non-Gazetted” service category.
Selection is done in two stages — Preliminary Examination and Main Examination — with no interview.
Minimum qualifying marks (Preliminary and Main Exam) as per General Administration Department norms:
Horizontal reservation for women is 35%, with a 4% horizontal reservation (with relaxed minimum qualifying marks of 32%) for Divyang candidates — both applicable only to domiciles of Bihar.
The syllabus for the General Studies and subject papers is based on the SCERT/NCERT curriculum relevant to the respective school level (Primary/Middle/Secondary/Senior Secondary), but the difficulty level will correspond to the minimum qualification prescribed for candidates at that teaching level.
The e-Admit Card for both the Preliminary and Main Examinations will be released on the official BPSC website closer to the respective exam dates. Candidates should keep printouts of both admit cards safely, as they are mandatory for entry to the examination hall and for later document verification.
After the Preliminary and Main Examinations are conducted, BPSC is expected to publish the provisional answer key on its official website, allowing candidates to raise objections within the specified window before the final answer key and result are released.
