BPSC TRE 4 Apply Online 2026

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official BPSC portal. The broad steps are:

  1. One Time Registration (OTR): Visit https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in and complete the mandatory One Time Registration using a valid, active email ID and mobile number. This OTR is common for all future BPSC exams.
  2. DigiLocker Linking: After OTR, link your DigiLocker account (via “Meri Pehchan” portal) to upload/import required documents.
  3. Profile Creation (6 steps): Personal Information → Address Information → Other Information → Qualification Information → Experience Information → Upload Photo/Signature & Profile Lock.
  4. Apply for the Advertisement: After locking the profile, select the relevant advertisement, choose your post/subject and category, and calculate the payable fee.
  5. Pay Fee & Submit: Complete payment via the SBI Payment Gateway/Online Payment option, then proceed to fill and submit the Application Form.
  6. Download & Print: After final submission, download two copies of the filled application from the “My Account” tab and keep them safely along with supporting documents.

Important: Once payment is made, the selected post/subject/category cannot be changed. Candidates must cancel the payment and refill the entire form if any correction is needed before final submission. No changes are permitted after final submission.

BPSC Teacher Exam Eligibility 2026

To be eligible for the School Teacher post, a candidate must:

  • Be a citizen of India.
  • Possess the academic and training qualifications prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) from time to time (for Special School Teacher, qualification as per the Rehabilitation Council of India norms is required).
  • Have qualified the relevant Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), as applicable to the post applied for.

Teachers appointed and working before 2012 who have qualified the “Dakshata Pariksha” (Efficiency Test) are exempt from mandatory TET qualification.

Candidates awaiting the result of the upcoming Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET, 2026) may also apply, provided they clear STET before the Preliminary Exam; if they fail to qualify STET 2026, their admit card for the Preliminary Exam will not be issued.

BPSC TRE Primary Teacher Eligibility

For Class 1–5 (Primary) posts, candidates need, broadly, one of the following:

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks + a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name), or
  • Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE norms, or
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks + 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), or
  • Graduation + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by any name).

(Special provisions apply for Urdu and Bangla-medium candidates as detailed in the official notification.)

BPSC TRE Higher Secondary Teacher Eligibility

For Class 11–12 (Senior Secondary) posts, candidates broadly need:

  • A Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university + B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution, or
  • Postgraduate degree with at least 45% marks + B.Ed obtained as per applicable NCTE regulations, or
  • Postgraduate degree with at least 50% marks + B.El.Ed/B.A.-B.Ed/B.Sc.-B.Ed, or
  • Postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks + 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.

Subject-wise eligible postgraduate subjects (for example) include Physics/Electronics/Applied Physics/Nuclear Physics for the Physics post; Chemistry/Biochemistry for Chemistry; Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics for Economics; M.Com (excluding Applied/Business Economics specialisation) for Commerce; and Botany/Zoology/Life Science/Bio Science/Genetics/Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Plant Physiology for the Botany/Zoology post.

BPSC Middle School Teacher Eligibility

For Class 6–8 (Middle School) posts, candidates broadly need:

  • Graduation (recognized by UGC) + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
  • Graduation/Postgraduation with at least 50% marks + B.Ed, or
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks + 1-year B.Ed as per NCTE norms, or
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed / B.A.-B.Ed / B.Sc.-B.Ed, or
  • Graduation + 1-year B.Ed (Special Education), or
  • Postgraduation (55%) + 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed, among other equivalent combinations listed in the notification.

For language subjects, candidates must have studied the concerned language as an Honours/Subsidiary subject at graduation level. For Social Science, candidates need any two subjects from History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Commerce, Psychology, Sociology, Home Science at graduation level. For Maths & Science, candidates need any two subjects from Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany/Zoology at graduation level.

BPSC TRE 4 Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2026

Selection is done in two stages — Preliminary Examination and Main Examination — with no interview.

Preliminary Examination

  • Objective-type (MCQ) test on General Studies only.
  • Duration: 2 hours; Total Marks: 150 (1 mark per question).
  • Each question has 5 options (A, B, C, D, E); marking option (E) is mandatory if the candidate chooses not to attempt a question.
  • Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for every wrong answer, and also for any question left completely unmarked.
  • Topics: General Science, national and international current affairs, Indian History, key features of Bihar, general Geography, major geographical facts of Bihar, Indian polity and economy, major rivers of India and Bihar, Indian economy since independence, Indian National Movement and Bihar’s contribution to it, and general mental ability.

  • Part-I (Language – Hindi/Urdu/Bangla and English) is qualifying in nature, requiring a minimum of 30% marks.
  • Part-II is General Studies based on the school-level syllabus.
  • Part-III (for Class 6–12 papers) is the subject paper chosen by the candidate.
  • Negative marking of 1/3 mark applies for wrong or unmarked answers, same as the Preliminary Exam.
  • There is no interview in the selection process.

Bihar TRE 4 Syllabus 2026

The syllabus for the General Studies and subject papers is based on the SCERT/NCERT curriculum relevant to the respective school level (Primary/Middle/Secondary/Senior Secondary), but the difficulty level will correspond to the minimum qualification prescribed for candidates at that teaching level.

Bihar Teacher 4 Selection Process 2026

  1. Preliminary Examination – Screening test only; qualifying marks vary by category.
  2. Main Examination – Marks obtained here (Part-II & Part-III, as applicable) form the basis of the final merit list.
  3. No Interview is conducted.
  4. Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Exam (selected in a ratio of roughly 2.5 to 10 times the vacancies, category-wise) will be called for the Main Exam.
  5. A provisional merit list will be prepared based on Main Exam marks; ties will be resolved using Part-I language marks, then age, then alphabetical order.
  6. Guest teachers with requisite eligibility are entitled to weightage marks (5 marks per year of service, up to a maximum of 25 marks), subject to relevant court orders.
  7. Candidates can select up to 38 districts in order of preference during application; final allotment for district, subject, and category will depend on seat availability as per preference.

Bihar Teacher Admit Card 2026

The e-Admit Card for both the Preliminary and Main Examinations will be released on the official BPSC website closer to the respective exam dates. Candidates should keep printouts of both admit cards safely, as they are mandatory for entry to the examination hall and for later document verification.
