JSSC PGT exam is conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission. They recruit for various posts. PGT is a postgraduate teacher at a school. Though JSSC has not published any notification about this exam. On 20/05/2025, they just published a regulation notification on their Official Website of JSSC. Updated dates will be added to our list below in future.

  • Candidates from other states can also be eligible for this exam.
  • In the past, JSSC recruited teachers for 9-10 and 11-12 separately. But from this year, only one exam, 9 to 12, will be held. This position will be named Madhyamik Acharya. Other states’ candidates will be considered as general in this exam.

  • The exam will be an MCQ-type test. 
  • JSSC PGT has only two papers.
  • Paper 1 has 33% marks to qualify for the exam.
  • For General candidates, the qualifying marks are 50% in Paper 2.
  • For SC/ST/PWD candidates qualifying marks are 45% in Paper 2.
  • Each Paper has 3 hours. The total time duration is 6 hours.

JSSC PGT Eligibility Criteria

JSSB has their criteria for the PGT exam. We will mention the eligibility criteria for education and the age limit. We discuss here the JSSC Teaching Posts Qualification below.

Education Qualification:

  • General candidates must have a Postgraduate degree with 55% marks along with a B.Ed. or M.Ed. of 3 years. Or a B.Ed. or B.Sc. of 3 years with 50% marks from a recognised University.
  • SC/ST candidates must have a Postgraduate degree with 50% marks along with their special paper from a recognised University.
  • OBC candidates must have a Postgraduate degree with 45% marks along with a B.Ed. of 3 years from a recognised University.
  • Candidates must be citizens of India and Jharkhand.
  • Candidates must have 3 years of teaching experience.

Age Limit:

  • JSSC PGT has an age limit of 21 to 41. But, there is age relaxation in every category. We will mention below.

Age Relaxation:

  • The General Category has age relaxation up to 40 years.
  • EWS (Economically Weaker Section) has age relaxation up to 40 years.
  • EBC (Schedule 1) and BC (Male Schedule 2) have age relaxation up to 42 years.
  • SC, ST (Male & Female) have age relaxation up to 45 years.
  • Women of UR, EWS, and OBC categories have age relaxation up to 43 years.
