Aiming to address the educational needs of tribal students, the Central Government of India has created a valuable opportunity for aspiring teachers by establishing Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS). Operated by the National Education Society for Tribal Students, these institutions seek to enhance educational outcomes for tribal communities. In 2023, EMRS announced 38000 job openings for teaching and non-teaching positions across its branches. So far, only 10000 positions have been filled. For the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year, a minimum of 28000 seats will be available for recruits. Additionally, there are plans to address other vacancies in EMRS’s Phase II this year. The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) has not released any recruitment notifications for the Eklavya Model Residential School for the year 2024 as of now. Candidates are advised to stay tuned for upcoming announcements related to teaching and non-teaching positions.

NESTS provides two categories of vacancies for interested applicants looking to join EMRS.

EMRS Teaching Eligibility Criteria

Educational Eligibility

Every other post has different eligibility criteria. Let’s look into it in detail

EMRS Principal

  • Education: Must have a postgraduate degree from any UGC-recognized university.
  • Experience: A minimum of 12 years of teaching experience in both Hindi and English medium schools.

EMRS PGT (Post Graduate Teacher)

  • Education: Candidates must possess a B.Ed degree along with a Post-Graduate degree with at least 50% marks from any UGC-recognized university.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in both Hindi and English is required for teaching.

EMRS TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher)

– Education: Must have a B.Ed degree along with a graduation degree with at least 50% marks from any UGC-recognized university. Candidates must clear the CTET exam before applying for this position.

Language Proficiency: The ability to teach in both Hindi and English is essential.

EMRS Age Limit 

Principal- Eligible candidates within 50 years of age can apply. (relaxation will be available as per government rules.)  

PGT- Candidates with a maximum of 40 years of age can apply for this post. (relaxations will be available as per government rules.) 

TGT- Maximum age of 35 years job candidates can apply for this post. (relaxations will be implemented as per government rules.)

EMRS Selection Process

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) will soon announce the EMRS Recruitment 2024 on its official website, emrs.tribal.gov.in. This notification will detail available Teaching and Non-Teaching positions in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS).

The selection process includes a written examination to evaluate subject knowledge and teaching aptitude, followed by Document Verification (DV) for candidates who score well.
