Railway Group D Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Railway Recruitment Board Group D will cover not only the nationality of a candidate, but also their educational qualification, age limit, and a few medical standards. Nationality Requirements for Railway Group D

The candidate needs to have:

  • Citizenship of India
  • Citizen of Bhutan/ Nepal.
  • Migrated candidates from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, and Vietnam with Indian origin intend to permanently settle in India.

Railway Group D Education Qualification

The candidates aspiring to qualify for Railway Recruitment Board Group D, have to meet certain educational qualifications mentioned by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). Let’s find out who will be eligible to apply

Distant vision: 6/9, 6/9 without glasses (No fogging test)

Near vision: Sn. 0.6, 0.6 without glasses and must pass tests for colour vision, binocular vision, night vision, mesopic vision, etc

Railway Group D Selection Process

The recruitment for RRB Group D is based on three stages of the selection process. The three stages of the selection process include a Computer-Based Test (CBT), a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and a Document Verification/Medical Examination.

Computer-Based Test (CBT): The exam will last 120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates with a scribe. The section-wise distribution is indicative and may vary. There will be negative markings, with a deduction of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Based on the merit of candidates in the CBT 1 exam, candidates shall be called for the PET, here they will need to fulfill some 

Document Verification/ Medical Examination:  Document Verifications are important for selection. Candidates need to produce all the certificates in original to secure their placement.

Railway Group D Salary Structure and Posts

The basic salary for RRB Group D will start from 18,000. Apart from this basic pay, DA, HRA, travel allowance, Medical Facilities, and overtime payments will be included with the salary.
