Tips to Prepare Using the WBPSC Food SI Syllabus 2026

  1. Start with the Food SI Syllabus. Print it or save the PDF and tick off each topic as you finish it. This keeps your preparation focused.
  2. Split your time between the two sections. Arithmetic needs daily practice, while General Studies needs regular reading and revision. A simple plan is arithmetic on some days, General Studies on others, and one day for current affairs and revision.
  3. Solve previous year papers. They show you the question style, the difficulty level and the topics that appear most often in the Food SI Syllabus.
  4. Build calculation speed. With 100 questions in 90 minutes, shortcuts and timed practice sets make a real difference.
  5. Follow current affairs every day. Read a newspaper and a monthly current affairs magazine, and note sports events, books, summits and MoUs, since these are named in the syllabus.
  6. Take regular mock tests. Because wrong answers carry negative marks, mocks help you learn when to attempt a question and when to skip it.
  7. Prepare early for the personality test. Know your own background, the Food & Supplies Department and current issues in West Bengal.
  8. Revise every week. Use the last day of each week to review weak topics from the Food SI Syllabus 2026.

A clear understanding of the Food SI Syllabus 2026 helps you study smarter, not just harder. Cover both General Studies and Arithmetic, practise with mock tests, and keep checking the official WBPSC website for any new notification.
