The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) held the Miscellaneous Services Recruitment Examination on 4 October 2026, in a single sitting from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. With the paper done, candidates now want to know how they performed. The official answer key is how you find out. This guide explains where to get it, how to check your marks, how to challenge an answer you think is wrong, and what comes after.
The Commission has put out the provisional answer key for the Miscellaneous examination on its official portal. “Provisional” means it is a first version. It lets candidates compare their answers with the Commission’s and report mistakes before the result is prepared. If the Commission finds errors after reviewing the objections, it may correct them and publish a final key.
Download the official Answer Key PDF. Click on the download button.
The answer key PDF is available only on the Commission’s own website, in its answer key section. Always open it from there. Files forwarded on WhatsApp, Telegram or unofficial pages can be outdated, edited or simply wrong, and a mistake in your estimated score can mislead you badly.
Tip: Once you open the PDF, save it to your phone or computer and keep a printed copy. You will need it if you decide to file an objection.
If the page loads slowly, try again at a quieter time or use a different browser. Many candidates open the site at the same time right after a key is released.

The objection portal is the facility on the Commission’s website where candidates can formally challenge an answer in the provisional key. It exists so that genuine errors can be caught before the result is made. Candidates cannot send objections casually by email or social media. The Commission accepts them only through the method and within the dates stated in the official notice. Candidates can lodge their objection between 6th October to 8th October 2026 with proof.
When filing an objection, keep these points in mind:
Keep your objection brief and factual. Strong proof matters far more than long explanations.
You can work out your probable score in a few minutes. Keep your question booklet and your noted answers in front of you. The WBPSC Miscellaneous Prelim exam has 100 questions carrying 200 marks, and each question carries 2 marks. In this exam, 0.50 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.
Your total is only an estimate. It can change if the Commission corrects any answer in the final key.

Once the objection window closes, the Commission’s experts examine every challenge received. Answers found to be wrong may be changed, and a final answer key may be published. The result is then prepared on the basis of the final key. Candidates who qualify will be informed about the next stage in line with the recruitment notice.
In the meantime, you should:
The answer key gives you an honest early look at your performance, and the objection process protects you against genuine errors. Download the key only from the official website, calculate your marks carefully, and act within the deadline if you want to challenge anything. Keep watching the official portal for the final key and result.
