West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) conducts an exam called the School Sub-Inspector (SI) exam. WBPSC School SI exam is not for a teaching position. This offline exam recruits candidates for school inspector positions who can manage school systems. This exam is a West Bengal Government exam held by the Public Service Commission. WBPSC last conducted this School SI exam in 2018. They use a selected exam pattern for their recruitment.

  • Total marks are 100.
  • Every question has 1 mark.
  • This is an offline exam.
  • This is an OMR-based exam.

  • There will be 50 marks from B.Ed. course.

Eligibility Criteria of School SI Exam

The School SI post has some criteria for the recruitment process. If candidates can match these criteria, they can attempt the exam.

Educational Qualification

These criteria are for educational background.

  • From a recognised University, Honours with a minimum of 50% marks. Or, a Master’s with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • A valid B.Ed. Degree from a recognised University.
  • Can write, speak and read in Bengali or Nepali.

Age Limit

  • Unreserved candidates have a minimum age limit of 36 years. But this year, maybe it will change to 39 years.
  • SC/ST and OBC will get 3 and 5 years of age relaxation.

School SI Exam Selection Process

  • The exam will be held in two steps. A written exam and an Interview.
  • A written exam of 100 marks will be conducted. If candidates can pass this exam with cut-off marks, they will be selected for the interview.
  • Then an interview worth 100 marks will be held.
  • If candidates can pass this interview, they can join in this post.

Salary Structure of WBPSC School SI Exam

  • Every month, a School SI will get 9000 to 40,500 Rupees as salary.

But it is a promotional job. Positions and salary will be promoted in future.

School SI Exam Syllabus

  • There are 3 subjects in the syllabus.
  • First, there will be questions from B.Ed. syllabus.
  • Arithmetic and General Knowledge will also be in the syllabus.
  • There is no English subject.

School SI is not a teaching job; it is from the School Education Department. This position has some major responsibilities.
