The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board conducts an examination to recruit constables and SIs in their department. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board, in short WBPRB, was established in 2011 by the Government of West Bengal. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board conducts various examinations to recruit candidates for the following posts. Exams are conducted according to their vacancies.
There are three posts under West Bengal Police. These are Constable, SI, and Lady Constable. Now, the examination process will be discussed in length:
There are four stages in the WBPRB examination process. First, a written test will be conducted by the board. Then three stages, including the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and the interview.
The written exam will be on an OMR sheet and in an MCQ pattern. Two languages, Bengali and English language will be set for the exam. The exam will be 1 hour long, and candidates have to answer 85 questions. Each question carries 1 mark. A negative marking of ¼ of the total marks will be deducted from the marks. The candidates who qualified in the written exam will be selected for the Physical Measurement Test stage.

WB Police Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Qualified candidates in the written exam will be selected for the Physical Efficiency Test. Those candidates who are qualified as per the following section in the PET section will be called for an interview.

There are seven stages in the WBPRB examination process. First, the Preliminary Exam then a Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Combined Competitive Exam and Personality Test.
A prelim exam will be taken. Those who will qualify, go to the next step. If candidates pass in the Preliminary exam, they will be in the Physical Measurement Test stage.

If candidates pass in PMT and PET stages, they will be allowed to take this exam. This has three papers.

A limited number of candidates who pass all the exams will be present in this exam of 30 marks.
Selected candidates’ Documents will be verified to ensure authenticity. The verification process is taken by the West Bengal Police main authority. Bengal Police Authority will only accept the updated documents which is valid in India.
There is a medical test about candidates’ health. The West Bengal Police Authority conducts this test. Four stages will be arranged.
West Bengal Police has some eligibility criteria for this constable post, including candidates’ age limit, nationalism. We discuss this below. The West Bengal Police publish a notification before the application process, that candidates can check their height and chest measurement before applying.
Age Limit: The minimum age is 18, and the maximum limit is 30 for both male constables and lady constables.
Education Qualification:
Applied candidates must have passed from the WBBSE board or any other valuable board in India.
Must know the Bengali language. (This is not for permanent residents of the sub-hill region of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts)
Candidates must be Indian Citizens and have all the vital documents.
Candidates who are not Indian Citizens but are permanently in India must have all documents authorised by the Indian Government.
No previous years’ experience is required.

The WBP Constable selection process will be done in four parts, including a written exam, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical efficiency Test (PET), and then an Interview round. West Bengal Police Lady Constable’s selection process is the same as Constable.

WB Police Exam Date 2025
West Bengal Police exam date has not yet been announced. The West Bengal police admit card for these exams has also not yet been published for 2025. The admit card will be published soon and candidates can download their admit card from the West Bengal Police official website.
Candidates can apply through the deposit application or processing fees in the post office using the “India Post Challan Form”.
Or, Candidates can pay the fees through the United Bank of India (UBI).
