The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) has declared the WBP Constable Result 2026 on 24 September 2026. Two PDFs have been published for the Constable recruitment 2024: the final merit list of provisionally selected candidates and the list of non-selected candidates. Topper’s score: The highest total is 86.67 out of 100.
Written vs. interview: The highest written score among selected candidates is 74.5 out of 85, and the highest interview score is 13.83 out of 15.
Score spread: 1,335 selected candidates scored 70 or above, and 47 scored 80 or above.
Average score: The average total of selected candidates is about 59.7.
Male vs female cut-off: Female cut-offs are much lower than male cut-offs in every category. This is probably because there were fewer qualified female candidates relative to the seats. It is our interpretation, not an official statement.
Merit-based selection of reserved candidates: 4,626 candidates from reserved categories (SC, OBC, EWS and ST) were selected under the Unreserved (UR) merit category.

Tie at the UR cut-off: Several UR male candidates scored exactly 63.42. Some were selected, and some were not. Check the official recruitment notification for the tie-breaking rules.
Why Were Some Candidates Not Selected?
Most candidates in the not-selected list simply scored below their category cut-off. Nearly 1,000 candidates missed their cut-off by 1 mark or less. Some candidates were removed for other reasons, which are noted in the “Remarks” column of the PDF:
- Absent in the interview (roughly 270 candidates)
- Candidature rejected because of the cut-off marks in the written examination (around 130)
- Candidature cancelled due to being overage (about 45)
- Candidature rejected by the SDO (about 12)
- Photo not matched, name-signature mismatch, non-payment of application fee, and other document-related issues (a few candidates each)
