WBPSC stands for West Bengal Public Service Commission, and it published its notification for the IDO (Industrial Development Officer) post on December 24, 2024, on its official website. As an IDO, their responsibilities will be to simplify the development of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in West Bengal, including licensing, documentation, and supporting new factories or units’ establishment under the state government.

WBPSC IDO Exam Process
Till now WBPSC IDO exam date has not been published by them. There are two stages in the WBPSC IDO Exam process.
- Stage one is a written exam.
- Stage two is the interview process. Candidates who pass in the written exam will be selected for the interview stage.
WBPSC IDO Exam Pattern
WBPSC conducts an objective type question pattern for the IDO post. This exam covers subjects like general studies, arithmetic, and mental health. In general studies there are science, humanities, West Bengal and India’s industrial potential. Here, arithmetic is the Madhyamik standard.

- There is no negative marking for wrong answers

WBPSC IDO Qualification
As WBPSC IDO’s responsibility required is in Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME). That means their work will be in licensing, documentation. They must have minimum knowledge of arithmetic and an Indian industrial background.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university
- Or, must have a diploma in Engineering or Technology from a recognised institution,
- Applied candidates must have a proficiency in the Bengali language in writing and reading.

- The minimum age is 21, and the maximum limit is 39 for both male constables and lady constables.

WBPSC IDO Recruitment Apply Online
WBPSC IDO applications were submitted on the official website of the West Bengal Police. Candidates can apply for the post through some stages.

- Then they will have to fill up the form,
- After document verification, they have to pay the fee.
WBPSC IDO Application Fee
- WBPSC has defined the exam fee for all categories in West Bengal as 160 Rupees.
- For West Bengal ST/SC, there is no fee.

- The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has set a minimum of 40% qualifying marks for the general.
- OBC must have scored 35% qualifying marks
- ST/SC must have scored 30% qualifying marks
