The RPSC Assistant Professor (Education) exam is divided into two parts: Written Exam and Interview. The Written Exam is an OMR-based test, consisting of 3 papers, the total marks is 200. The exam features multiple-choice questions, with 5 options for each question. It’s mandatory for candidates to darken the circle for every question, even if they don’t want to attempt it.
Not attempting a question will result in a penalty, where 1/3 marks will be deducted only if no option is chosen for a particular question. To be considered eligible for the position of Assistant Professor in the colleges of Rajasthan, the candidate must unequivocally meet the following eligibility criteria:
The candidate must be at least 21 and not more than 40. However, age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories, such as SC, ST, OBC, and physically handicapped candidates, as per the rules of the Rajasthan government and the Government of India.
The candidate must possess a Master’s degree in the subject they have applied to. They must have a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university in that subject. Additionally, candidates must have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), which is a mandatory requirement for this position. However, candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, are exempted from the requirement of clearing the NET.
The candidates from outside of Rajasthan who cleared other state level eligibility tests such as SET or SLET are not considered eligible to sit for this test.
